A down-and-out man named A-Wu (Aaron Kwok) becomes a victim of a violent beating due to gambling, leading him to regard his life as worthless. He takes on a murder contract at the cost of 80,000. Before the action, after unexpectedly receiving 800,000, A-Wu starts to value his life again and hires a female assassin, Karmen (Maggie Siu), who has just been released from prison, to carry out the task on his behalf. Karmen struggles to let go of old feelings and insists that A-Wu meet her former boyfriend, who has wronged her, or she will refuse to proceed with the job. Reluctantly, A-Wu complies, but as he learns the truth, he slowly falls in love with Karmen. However, the task must go on, and A-Wu begins to hesitate whether to take over from Karmen and kill himself.
