In 1945, as World War II approached its end, the Axis powers were on the brink of collapse, and defeat was inevitable. Many Japanese soldiers who had been captured during the war began their journey back home after reformation, including Private Nakamura (played by Pan Changjiang), who has a clubfoot. However, even at this desperate moment, the greed of imperialism had not yet waned.
