The film depicts an American businessman sent by his company to the Mangelan Coast to negotiate the acquisition of land for an oil factory. The local customs, culture, and the daily lives of the residents clash with his urban lifestyle, making him feel utterly bored. Unexpectedly, after the company president visits the small town, he changes his mind and decides to establish an astronomical academy instead. After returning to his residence in the United States, the businessman cannot help but reminisce about the endless Mangelan Coast.
