In the summer of 1951, on the Pamir Plateau in Xinjiang. The lives of the frontier soldiers and civilians are threatened by a spy organization. The new bride, Gulan Dam, brought from afar, is actually the female spy Guli Ba'er (played by Gu Yuying) in disguise. Her arrival sparks bittersweet memories for Amir (played by Amuduli Litai), a soldier at the PLA outpost, who was once a childhood sweetheart with her, but they lost contact in their early years. After the fake Gulan Dam learns about this childhood story, she becomes especially affectionate towards Amir to spy on military intelligence. This unusual behavior raises the high alert of Squad Leader Yang (played by Liang Yin). Soon, the enemy takes advantage and infiltrates the border to attack the outpost. However, the enemy's meticulous plans do not escape the trap set by our troops. Yang devises a counterplan, not only exposing the true identity of the fake Gulan Dam but also capturing the entire cunning group of spies. Amir finally reunites with the real Gulan Dam (played by Ai Xiashimu), welcoming the rising sun amidst the victorious song. The theme song "Why Are the Flowers So Red" in the film has become a classic piece, sung to this day.
