Carmen (played by Rosy Rodríguez) is a Gypsy girl living in Madrid, born into a very feudal family where every girl is burdened from birth with the fate of carrying on the family lineage. This makes Carmen feel confused and suffocated, but she understands that she cannot single-handedly overthrow the heavy burden on her shoulders. One day, Carmen meets a girl named Lola (played by Zaira Romero), who is unlike any Gypsy girl she has ever seen—free and uninhibited. Lola’s inner passion and desire gradually inspire Carmen, and a bond of mutual understanding forms between them, although this relationship would never be accepted by Carmen's family.
