Taiwanese girl Xu Min arrives in Chongqing, but is robbed as soon as she gets off the plane, fortunate to be rescued by local youth Pan Tianbang. Xu Min begs Pan and another Chongqing resident, Lao Luo, to take her to Shangqing Temple, but they claim it has long since ceased to exist! Hearing this, Xu Min is anxious! However, Pan Tianbang and Lao Luo promise to help her find the missing "Shangqing Temple." After many twists and turns, the three find the former high priest of Shangqing Temple, but after giving Xu Min a mysterious "Twelve Time Plate," the high priest mysteriously dies. It turns out Xu Min's purpose for coming is to search for a secret treasure left by her grandfather Xu Zun decades ago in Chongqing. Later, the three meet "Old Chongqing" Lao Zeng, and the four embark on a treasure-hunting journey. At the same time, two groups of mysterious treasure hunters appear around them. The four face numerous attacks, yet always seem to have a master helping them, escaping danger time and again. Pan Tianbang and Xu Min gradually fall in love, but both harbor doubts about each other's identities. It turns out Xu Min is an impostor! Her real name is Meng Xiaoqing. Moreover, Pan Tianbang is not just a storyteller; his father was a renowned cultural relic appraiser in Chongqing, who was framed years ago. Pan Tianbang has been secretly investigating the mastermind behind his father's framing. The secrets of the "Twelve Time Plate" are uncovered one by one, and the two groups of treasure hunters become increasingly deranged. The four are constantly in danger. At the last treasure location, all factions converge. Pan Tianbang successfully traps the treasure hunters. It turns out that apart from the "Military Commission" faction, the other group of treasure hunters is the largest cultural relic trafficking group in Chongqing, and their hidden leader is Lao Zeng, who was also the mastermind that framed Pan's father! Xu Min and Pan Tianbang open the treasure secret chamber. The letters left by Grandpa Xu Zun still quietly lie there after more than half a century, revealing the true "secret" of the treasure: during the turbulent times of war, there was a group of people silently protecting this city and its citizens. They are the priests of Shangqing Temple, their descendants, and individuals from all walks of life concerned about Shangqing Temple. Xu Zun encountered them by chance, admired them, and promised to rebuild Shangqing Temple when peace prevailed, but unexpectedly waited for more than half a century. In the end, Lao Zeng and his henchmen receive their deserved punishment, and Lao Luo gains an understanding of the true meaning of life during the treasure hunt. Having discovered the true meaning of Grandpa Xu's treasure, Xu Min decides to return to Taiwan to comfort Xu Zun's spirit, while Pan Tianbang finds it hard to part from Xu Min with his deep feelings...
