The wife of a Ceylon plantation owner, unable to bear her husband’s dullness, falls in love with someone else. After suffering from cholera, monsoons, and elephant stampedes, she realizes that her husband is the one she truly loves. However, Oliver encourages Vivien Leigh to accept an invitation, even though he himself does not take on the role of the male lead. At this point, Oliver’s self-founded theater company is on the brink of bankruptcy, and the high salary Vivien receives for the film would undoubtedly be helpful. Thus, Vivien Leigh embarks on a journey into the tropical jungles of Ceylon, and her life tragedy faces new trials.
