The story takes place in 1980s Dublin. Due to financial difficulties, fourteen-year-old Conor (Ferdia Walsh-Peelo) is forced to transfer to a strict and rigid church school. There, he encounters the bullying and eccentric Barry (Ian Kenny), which indicates that the future won’t be easy. One day, Conor meets a beautiful girl named Rafina (Lucy Boynton). To attract Rafina's attention, Conor invites her to star in the music video of his band, and to his surprise, Rafina happily agrees. The question arises: how can Conor, who knows almost nothing about playing music, form a band in such a short time? Fortunately, Conor has a group of friends who love music, and soon a band called "Sing Street" is formed.
