At a wedding, the groom (Guan Zhe) and the bride (Mao Junjie) set up tables for ex-boyfriends and ex-girlfriends, gathering the groom's ex-girlfriends and the bride's ex-boyfriends, leading to two encounters fraught with crises. At the wedding, the ex-boyfriend table and ex-girlfriend table engage in brotherly camaraderie, confrontations, heartfelt moments, and hesitant toasts, showcasing the myriad forms of modern love through witty exchanges, laughter, and quarrels among men, women, and between the two.
Meng Yun (Han Geng) is an ordinary young man living in Beijing, with slight achievements in his career. At this uniquely themed ex-girlfriend wedding, he unexpectedly meets a girl named Xia Lu (Yao Xingtong) sitting at the "ex-girlfriend table" set by the groom. Thus, Meng Yun starts an unexpected romance with the ex-girlfriend of his ex's husband.
Meng Yun partners with two college classmates, Yu Fei (Zheng Kai) and Luo Xi (Wang Likun), to run a small company. They have built their business from the difficult entrepreneurial years right after graduation, cherishing exclusive memories of their youth together. However, Luo Xi's feelings for Meng Yun have matured alongside their lives over the past fourteen years; she has silently protected him while Meng Yun unknowingly loves Luo Xi. With the support and witnessing of good friend Yu Fei and Xia Lu's best friend Xiao Wen (Ban Jiajia), Meng Yun and Xia Lu's love faces a series of challenges from various problematic exes, including the neurotic ex-girlfriend Ling Ling (Mai Dinna), the alcohol-addicted ex-girlfriend Meng Meng (Xiong Naijin), the extravagant ex-girlfriend Shang Dan (Liu Yan), and Xia Lu's ex-boyfriend Park Eun-ho (Li Xiangye), who is only left with money. As clever Xia Lu navigates through these situations, she unexpectedly finds that Luo Xi becomes an insurmountable obstacle. Luo Xi gets engaged to a wealthy, mature, and thoughtful man named Zhao Ming (Zhang Hanyu). At the engagement party, a drunken Luo Xi reveals her true feelings, and Meng Yun discovers his long-buried love for Luo Xi, leading Xia Lu to feel unable to face their relationship and flee from the engagement party. Subsequently, an argument between Xia Lu and Meng Yun results in Xia Lu falling down the stairs, leading to her miscarriage.
How will Meng Yun, Xia Lu, and Luo Xi sort out the aftermath of their emotional turmoil, and where will everyone’s feelings ultimately lead them?
