In 1936, the Nazis initiated a nationwide youth challenge to climb the backside of the Alps, which many considered to be the Wall of Death, yet two German youths took on the challenge and ultimately failed. Their bodies were discovered in the snowy mountains, one of them tightly gripping a small page of blood-written notes, which read, “Give me a set of equipment. I can climb to China…”
