Tired of the bustling and monotonous life of the metropolis, the imaginative Rie (played by Tomoyo Harada) and her gentle and caring husband escape Tokyo to settle on a small hill by a lake in Tsukiura, Hokkaido. The Mizukami couple runs a bakery café called Máni, where they work together to create delicious food and entertain passing visitors.
