Gil (Owen Wilson) comes to Paris on vacation with his fiancée Inez (Rachel McAdams) and her parents. He hopes to stay in Paris to finish his first novel, but Inez and her parents strongly oppose this. During a meal, Inez encounters an old classmate, Paul, who is traveling with his wife. Paul shows off everywhere and chatters incessantly with the tour guide (Carla Bruni), which annoys Gil greatly. At midnight, he walks alone through the streets of Paris and is drawn to a passing horse-drawn carriage. He follows the carriage to a party of celebrities, where he accidentally meets Hemingway, Picasso, Fitzgerald, Dali (Adrien Brody), Stein (Kathy Bates), and more. He also becomes infatuated with Picasso's model, Adriana (Marion Cotillard). He joyfully traverses through time, and everything that happens makes him hopelessly fall in love with the city of Paris... Woody Allen won the Best Screenplay at the 69th Golden Globe Awards for this film.
