Alex (Ben Stiller) and Nancy (Drew Barrymore) move into a duplex apartment. Although the apartment is a bit outdated, it is a wonderful place to live. The only downside is that the second floor is occupied by a woman named Mrs. Connolly (Eileen Essell), who is nearly a hundred years old and brings disaster to the couple's lives.
