In 1950, the Wing Chun grandmaster Ip Man (played by Anthony Wong) and his wife Cheung Wing-ching (played by Miriam Yeung) brought their son Ip Chun to live in Macau, and later moved to Hong Kong to make a living. During a challenge, Leung Shuang (played by Hung Tin-Ming) conceded defeat and became a disciple of Ip Man. Subsequently, Ip Man accepted disciples including Li Qiong (played by Jiang Luxia), Chen Si Mei (played by Gillian Chung), Deng Sheng (played by Kenny Bee), Wang Dong (played by Chow Ting-Yu), and Wu Zan.
