The middle-aged Reistuchia couple enjoys a prosperous life and has no worries about food. However, their abundant material conditions contrast sharply with their lacking spiritual state. The husband Carlo (played by Fabrizio Bentivoglio), a corporate executive, has lost his passion for his wife. At a school reunion, he reconnects with his former lover Alicia (played by Monica Bellucci), who is now married, and their love is reignited. The wife, Giulia (played by Laura Morante), gives up her beloved dance career for the family, and with the help of friends, she steps into the theater world to pursue something she truly wants to do. Their 19-year-old son Paolo (played by Silvio Muccino) feels lonely and lost, lacking a sense of belonging, and only hopes to fit in with his peers.
