Nathan (played by Romain Duris) experienced a severe car accident in his childhood that nearly took his life. However, after having a close encounter with death, he has now grown into a successful lawyer, with a beautiful wife and a lovely daughter. Yet, he becomes increasingly distant from his family due to his busy lifestyle. One day, a doctor he has never met, Dr. Kay (played by John Malkovich), visits him and claims he can foresee a person's death. His purpose is to inform Nathan that his time is running out.
