In the early 1980s, Liu Suzhen, Wang Guosheng, and Zhou Hongwei were classmates. Wang Guosheng and Zhou Hongwei were very close friends, and they both fell in love with Liu Suzhen. By a twist of fate, Liu Suzhen married Wang Guosheng, and afterwards, the old Wang family and the old Zhou family lived in the same courtyard. Liu Suzhen was often teased by her husband because of her first love, Zhou Hongwei. Wang Guosheng and Liu Suzhen had two children: a daughter, Wang Jingwen, and a son, Wang Qinglin. Zhou Hongwei and his wife had a son and a daughter: Zhou Liyang and Zhou Xuemei. Zhou's wife had long since passed away, and it was Liu Suzhen who took care of his family by sewing and mending. After graduating from university, Zhou Liyang married Wang Jingwen, but as Liyang's career hit a rough patch, their marriage fell apart. In high school, Wang Qinglin accidentally got involved in a violent incident; he was in love with his classmate Zhou Xuemei but was not good at expressing it. Ultimately, he was touched by Zhou Xuemei's deep feelings, and the two of them got together. Life flowed on amidst the laughter and anger of these ordinary people, with touching emotions continuing to thrive, bringing laughter mixed with tears and thoughts mixed with sorrow. We learned that love, understanding, and tolerance are the sources of a happy life.
