The quirky girl Mu Xiaoru and the aloof genius Yan Sui reunite due to the "Cloud-Piercing Ring" after fifteen years. In one second, Mu Xiaoru is in a bookstore, and the next, she accidentally travels to the world of the novel and faces a manhunt. To retrieve the Cloud-Piercing Ring, Yan Sui has no choice but to enter the story with the book spirit Wan Wan to save Xiaoru.
