The 30-something housewife Nagai Kogumi (played by Manami Konishi) is deeply depressed. Her husband, Fanpeng (played by Yoshinori Okada), prides himself on being a novelist, yet he has high aspirations but low abilities, is lazy, and relies on his family for support all day long. In a fit of anger, Kogumi leaves a divorce agreement and returns to her family's home in Yokohama with her young daughter, Konomi. Without a source of income, Kogumi begins to worry about her daughter's future and starts job hunting, but faces repeated setbacks. During this time, she reunites with her high school friend Tamagawa Rika (played by Sayaka Yamaguchi) and her first love, Iguchi Takeo (played by Jun Murakami), and the sweet feelings of their youth resurface. However, Fanpeng continues to cling to her, and the future remains uncertain, causing Kogumi much distress... This film is adapted from the original work of Japanese manga artist Yoshikazu Irie and won the Best Actress award at the 2010 Mainichi Film Awards; also awarded Best Actress, Best Director, and Best Supporting Actor at the 2010 Yokohama Film Festival.
