In the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China, a tragedy caused by family grudges and the devastation of warlords changed the fate of the servant Lian Cheng (played by Huang Jue) of the wealthy Lian family. After the massacre of his master’s family, Lian Cheng became a trustee and sought revenge for them.
