The Japanese invading army occupied Beijing, and the secret formula of the "Bai Family" Bai Cao Hall became a target of desire for the Japanese army. Determined to resist the Japanese invaders to the end, Bai Family's Seventh Master Bai Jingqi (played by Chen Baoguo) secretly transferred the formula with Li Xiangxiu (played by Jiang Shan) that same night, but faced unanimous opposition from Yang Jiuhong (played by He Saifei) and others. Bai Jingqi's grandson, Bai Zhanyuan (played by Tong Ruixin), who insisted on resisting the Japanese, fled to the liberated area to join the Eighth Route Army. As the president of the chamber of commerce, Seventh Master smuggled a large quantity of banned medicines to the front lines against the Japanese and to the liberated areas. Seventh Master was imprisoned, and Li Xiangxiu made various efforts, ultimately proving his innocence. Finally, Japan surrendered, and the whole family rejoiced. The liberation army entered Beijing, and the Bai family underwent profound ideological education. During the "public-private partnership" movement, Seventh Master dedicated the century-old "Bai Family Secret Formula" to the state. However, the Bai family members turned against each other over the division of family assets. Witnessing the various misfortunes at home, Seventh Master made a will to donate the family's wealth to the Forbidden City. The "Da Zhai Men 2," written and directed by famous Chinese film director Guo Baochang, not only continues to use the powerful original cast but also adds a group of talented new actors, including Jiang Shan, Liu Pei, Yu Feihong, Wang Qian, Liu Bin, and Tong Ruixin. The story continues to revolve around the Bai family, a large family that has risen and fallen along with the nation, faithfully reflecting and witnessing the historical processes of the late Qing Dynasty, the Republic of China, the warlords' chaos, and liberation.
