The unlucky man Fu Gen discovers a corpse by the roadside and goes to the police station to report it and assist in the investigation. However, he unexpectedly becomes the main suspect in a murder case. A nitpicking detective refuses to let any detail slip by, forcing Fu Gen to constantly recall and narrate every trivial incident of that night. As the long night drags on, the investigation continues, but various unexpected absurdities occur in the police station. Will the detective manage to uncover the truth? The French absurdist comedy genius Quentin Dupieux returns with another project after films like "Rubber," this time teaming up with Belgian actor Benoît Poelvoorde, playing with narrative perspectives and subverting audience expectations for the genre, creating a stream-of-consciousness black comedy with suspense elements. Surreal elements constantly invade the story's space, and before one has time to be confused, humorous and sarcastic dialogues emerge at just the right moments. In this limited space, the performances of the actors spark excitement, and until the last moment of the film, it’s impossible to predict its final twist.
