Isabelle Huppert plays three completely different women: a French female director, a wealthy woman in an extramarital affair, and a deserted wife whose husband is taken by a Korean woman. They have distinct personalities, yet in the story, they all arrive in a foreign land, at a remote beach called Maho, staying in the same "Room 10" of a refreshing seaside guesthouse, guided by the same girl, encountering the same awkward lifeguard with a beautiful tent, and even borrowing the same light blue umbrella. Through the different details, the story develops in varying ways, and the lighthouse they seek, which has never appeared, remains uncertain if it is the same one. The film was selected for the competition for the Palme d'Or at the 65th Cannes Film Festival. French actress and singer Jane Birkin was invited for a cameo during her performance in Korea.
