Lu Daanian (played by Chung Chen-Tao) comes to Neiwān to substitute for his sister, who is about to go abroad. He is arranged to live on the second floor of the home of elementary school music teacher Chen Suyun (played by Jiang Ling). Daanian serves as the homeroom teacher for the fourth-grade Zhong Class. In class, he must deal with the notorious troublemakers known as the "Three Swordsmen," while also caring for the withdrawn student Zhou Xingwang (played by Zheng Chuanwen), who is affected by his parents' divorce. Chen Suyun is a quiet girl who spends her days with Daanian, and they develop feelings for each other. In Neiwān, there are fishermen who use poisoning and electric shocks to catch fish, and Daanian is determined to eradicate these harmful fishing methods that severely damage the natural ecosystem. He initiates the "Love Rivers, Protect Fish" campaign at Neiwān Elementary School and promotes it in the region. Zhou Xingwang's father, Zhou Wen (played by Cui Fusheng), frequently engages in electric fishing, which leads to his son being mocked by classmates and eventually running away from home. Daanian and Suyun go to find the child; will they ultimately come together?
