A French volunteer corps stationed in a East African colony, which strictly adheres to the principles of doctrine, honor, and obedience, welcomes a group of new recruits. Among them, the most remarkable is the handsome and strong Santin (Grégoire Colin), who simultaneously attracts the passionate gaze of Commander Bruno (Michel Subor) and Lieutenant Bourgoin (Denis Lavant).
