Orphan Taro lives as a shepherd; he is the king of the world of memories, remembering everything, yet he is an outsider in real life, forgotten by everyone, even his name is lost, only called "Little Braids." Until he meets the girl from the barbershop, for the first time being remembered, for the first time in love, that is the beginning of existence. Taro embarks on a journey of love, filled with many surprises and mostly disappointments, experiencing the world and all beings, then returning to himself. Braids may be lost but will grow back; what about this world? One always needs to leave before knowing how to return. Adapted from the short story by director Wanma Caidan, focusing on the life situation of Tibetans, using the rough texture of black-and-white imagery to outline the desolation of Tibet, capturing the inner confusion of this generation of Tibetan youth. On the highlands of the soul, thinking they’ve traveled far, yet still hesitating between traditional indigenous culture and modern civilization, wanting to leave but never truly leaving, the sky may not be empty.
