In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the world underwent significant changes. In an era dominated by capitalism, the ancient East could no longer remain dormant. The Opium War broke down the doors of the Qing Kingdom, with smoke rising along the coast and the populace being displaced. A large number of young men were temporarily conscripted; these villagers, who originally only sought to earn a little money, were ordered by General Yu Rong to go resist the British and French forces. This hastily assembled "Left Camp Artillery" had no experience, morale was low, and one of the soldiers, Feng Yushu (played by Liu Xiaoqing), was even disguised as a man. In the face of national crisis, they were forced to step onto the front lines of history, firing the first shot against the British and French invaders…
