Psychiatrist Dr. Lawrence mysteriously goes missing, and no one knows his whereabouts. However, the psychiatric patient Mike seems to hold the key to his disappearance. Dr. Green, the hospital administrator overwhelmed by other scandals, sacrifices his Christmas holiday and leaves his wife and daughter behind to uncover the truth before the news breaks, engaging in a cat-and-mouse game of psychological warfare with Mike in a locked room. This film is adapted from the writer Nicolas's play of the same name, "Elephant Song." The genius director Xavier Dolan steps down from his directing role to collaborate with director Charles Biname, playing the mad yet brilliant patient Mike, facing off against Bruce Greenwood in a riveting confrontation. As the two engage in questioning within the confined space, layers of each other's hidden pasts are revealed with the shift in power dynamics.
