Ah Wai (played by Ouyang Zhenhua), a timid stuntman working at a Hong Kong film company, frequently brags to build his confidence, earning the disdain of those around him. During a filming session, his fear prevents him from acting, leading to his dismissal from the company. When his wife, Xiao Wen (played by Luo Huijuan), learns of his cowardice, she leaves him without a word. Devastated by job loss and divorce, Ah Wai decides to commit suicide with poison. Just as he drinks the poison, fate plays a trick on him, and he discovers that he has won the lottery jackpot. Coincidentally, at that moment, a debt collector named Gui Li comes to collect money, and in a moment of desperation, Ah Wai hides the lottery ticket in the crack of his television and rushes to the hospital.
