In the early 21st century, a satellite belonging to the former Soviet Union suddenly malfunctioned and threatened to crash onto American soil, which made officials at NASA extremely anxious. NASA planned to send astronauts into space to repair the satellite, but they couldn't find any technicians familiar with the technology of that era. Desperate for a solution, a few retired old-timers came to the surface. They are Frank Corwin (Clint Eastwood), Hawk Hawkins (Tommy Lee Jones), Jerry O'Neill (Donald Sutherland), and Tank Sullivan (James Garner).
