The story takes place in the early 20th century. In pursuit of the truth of saving the country and its people, Zhou Enlai (played by Zhu Yawen), Deng Xixian (played by Zhong Qiu), and a group of progressive youth came to France to work and study. Deng Xixian was advised to withdraw from school due to insufficient tuition fees, and from then on, he and his companions began their life of work-study in a foreign land. In 1921, Zhou Enlai, Zhao Shiyan (played by Li Liang), and others established the Paris Communist Group, and under their influence, the Chen brothers began to embrace Marxism.
