Carl Allen (Jim Carrey) is in his thirties and lives a life that could be considered a complete failure despite being financially secure. Three years after his divorce from his wife, he is still living a single life. He works at a bank but is essentially in a state of coasting with no hope for promotion. He refuses to engage with others and prefers to stay at home watching movies, as if his life is cloaked in a gray fog. Following a friend's advice, Carl visits an organization called "Yes Man" for counseling, where under the guidance of mentor Terrence (Terence Stamp), he attempts to answer every question in his life with a positive affirmation. This small change drastically transforms Carl's life, bringing him honor, money, opportunities, and love. Just when he feels self-assured, he realizes that life is not as simple as he thought...
