Carl Allen (Jim Carrey) is in his thirties and lives a life that could be considered a complete failure despite being financially secure. Three years after his divorce from his wife, he is still living a single life. He works at a bank but is essentially in a state of coasting with no hope for promotion. He refuses to engage with others and prefers to stay at home watching movies, as if his life is cloaked in a gray fog. Following a friend's advice, Carl visits an organization called "Yes Man" for counseling, where under the guidance of mentor Terrence (Terence Stamp), he attempts to answer every question in his life with a positive affirmation. This small change drastically transforms Carl's life, bringing him honor, money, opportunities, and love. Just when he feels self-assured, he realizes that life is not as simple as he thought... This film is adapted from the autobiography of British comedian and writer Danny Wallace and won the 2009 MTV Award for Best Comedy Performance (Jim Carrey).
