The drama tells an inspirational story about becoming the best television host in China. The protagonist, Qian Tu, has struggled for more than a decade but still has not succeeded, and he has lost his wife, Ling Qiuye, and son, Qian Duo Duo. On the other hand, the female lead, Wu Liang, has experienced a failed romance, blaming it on her father's imposed restrictions and excessive control. After the breakup, she discovers she is pregnant and decides to have the baby to rebel against her father and become a complete woman. After Qian Tu and Wu Liang meet, they quickly bond and obtain a marriage certificate at the civil affairs bureau. Qian Tu leverages Wu Liang's identity as a Beijinger to try to achieve his wish of remarrying his ex-wife and buying a house for his son in Beijing. Qian Tu is responsible for covering up the fact that Wu Liang has a child out of wedlock, to escape his father’s constraints. Although they are "fake couple," they face misunderstanding and doubt from their parents and friends while pursuing their respective goals. However, they find comfort and support in each other, gradually developing feelings. Inspired by Wu Liang, Qian Tu realizes that the responsibility of fatherly love is not just about providing material support, while Wu Liang understands that her father's overprotectiveness stems from his deep love for her. Through role reversal and mutual understanding, they ultimately achieve professional success and find new love.
