Chen Baozhu (played by Mao Shunjun) is a straightforward and cheerful female inspector who has been married to Li Zhu Yin (played by Lin Baoyi) for six years. Zhu is successful in her career, but Wang is dissatisfied with her job and demands that she resign, which troubles her greatly. While at work, Zhu meets an informant named Cheng Dazhi (played by Xia Yu), a minor character at the casino who once went to prison for defending his mother, losing both his future and his former girlfriend Ren Yingying (played by Wen Xueer) in the process. Although Cheng’s mother tries to match him with Guo Youzhen (played by Hu Meiyi), it ultimately fails. Upon discovering Zhu's husband's infidelity, she demands a divorce, but he refuses. They then decide to gamble on their marriage, leading to a heated argument about "human integrity." They decide to make Dazhi the target of their bet. Dazhi, wanting to open a dessert shop, agrees to work as Baozhu's live-in worker for a month. Their initially antagonistic relationship evolves into romantic feelings, putting Baozhu in a dilemma. Dazhi ultimately wins the bet for Baozhu, resulting in a divorce between Zhu Yin and Baozhu, leaving Zhu Yin resentful towards Dazhi. Later, Dazhi's dessert shop is set on fire, and suspicion falls on Zhu Yin, deepening the misunderstanding between them. Subsequently, Zhu Yin is kidnapped, and Dazhi is accused of being the mastermind, leaving him unable to defend himself. Will Dazhi be able to clear his name in the end?
