In old age, one can't even enjoy a single day of peace; there are always various troubles and trivial matters that exhaust the last bit of effort from the elderly who have toiled hard for most of their lives. Elderly lady Guo Baoyin (played by Siqin Gaowa) bids farewell to her late husband Qiao Shoucheng. Before passing away, he left a will, bequeathing both courtyards of their old house to Guo's biological son, Shuguang (played by Xia Fan), while the other two children from his previous marriage, Sicheng (played by Niu Li) and Siyu (played by Si Kehua), are left out. To maintain the family bond among the children, Grandma Guo hesitates to announce the will. However, she cannot prevent relatives from scheming against each other over the property, leading to a breakdown of family ties. Sicheng invites her beloved aunt Qiao Yufeng to support her, while Shuguang refuses to back down under his wife's prodding. Siyu finds himself in a difficult position.
