The 30-episode anti-war drama "The First Paratroopers" is adapted from the bestselling novel "Dandelions on the Battlefield" by the author Wang Waijia. This is also the third time his work has been adapted into a TV series, following "Chinese Cavalry" and "Militia Ge Er Dan." The book uses "dandelion" to symbolize the paratroopers flying in the sky over the battlefield and tells the story of the protagonist Cai Zhicheng, who joins the army during the anti-Japanese war, becoming one of China's first paratroopers. He experiences the brutal Battle of Songshan and the Nanjing surrender ceremony, ultimately choosing to join the Communist Party of China amidst the conflict between faith and reality, allowing the "dandelion" to continue soaring over the Republic.
