In 2022, young speed skater Yan Yang (played by Ouhou) is about to compete for the Chinese team in the World Youth Championships. Holding the red ice skates that his father Yan Zhenhua once wore, a flood of memories rushes back to him. This represents not only a commitment to ice and snow sports but also the continuation of the Yan family's deep connection with ice and snow across three generations. Back in 1980, a young Yan Zhenhua began practicing skating under the guidance of his father Yan Yiguo and became a figure skating partner with a girl from Harbin, Li Binghe. Despite the harsh realities of competitive sports and the changes of the times, Yan Zhenhua and Li Binghe supported each other, yet ultimately drifted apart.
As Yan Zhenhua's son Yan Yang grows up, a new chapter in the family's connection with ice and snow sports begins. In 2019, despite Yan Zhenhua's objections, Yan Yang decides to join a short track speed skating training camp, but is relegated to be a practice partner for female athlete Jin Ying due to his insufficient skills. Under the guidance of champion coach Chen Jin, Yan Yang successfully turns the tables and, with mutual encouragement from Jin Ying, they eventually step onto the stage of the World Youth Championships together. This story reflects not only Yan Yang's personal growth and struggle but also the emotional bond and inheritance between the Yan family and ice and snow, showcasing their resilience, perseverance, and fighting spirit in ice and snow sports.
