"Little Flying Tigers" has won numerous awards including the Best Children's Drama Award at the Golden Eagle Awards and the Third Prize at the Feitian Awards. A few of the main child actors had very little acting experience prior, and to select suitable young actors, the production team chose over 30,000 children from more than 40 schools in Beijing, Shandong, and Henan. The story is set in Lunan during the War of Resistance against Japan, revolving around courier Old Wu (played by Guo Jinglin) who, while delivering messages to the Eighth Route Army in the mountains, is suddenly pursued by Japanese soldiers. In a desperate situation, he communicates the message to the young protagonist, Dazhuang (played by Zhao Zewen), in the form of two coded phrases while Dazhuang is playing in the reed marsh. Thus, timid, clumsy, and somewhat simple-minded Dazhuang enlists his village friends, Huzi (played by Little Dingdong) and Xiaoyin (played by Hu Tianyang), to embark on an uncertain journey to deliver the message...
