A computer chip containing high-level secrets has gone missing from the U.S. Department of Defense, and international criminals have inflated its price to astronomical figures. To complete the transaction, the criminals hid it inside a toy remote-controlled car, successfully passing through airport security. However, along the way, an elderly lady accidentally switched it, and the car containing the top-secret chip ended up in the hands of an 8-year-old boy named Alex (played by Alex D. Linz). To retrieve the chip, the professionally trained criminals infiltrated the neighborhood where Alex lives. One night, Alex was left home alone due to chickenpox, providing a significant opportunity for the criminals. However, Alex is not the 8-year-old boy they imagined; he has unexpected "weapons" and ultimately uses his intelligence to defeat the criminals. Due to the original star, Macaulay Culkin, having grown up by the time the third installment was made, a new young lead, Alex D. Linz, was cast.
