The Nazi Holocaust is a thing of the past, but history is not easily forgotten. Two sisters are the daughters of an Israeli survivor; the younger sister is mocked in Berlin as the "daughter of a murderer," while the elder sister harbors resentment towards their dictatorial father and is skeptical of his story about suffering during the war in Poland. Determined to uncover the family's hidden secrets, she begins to unearth buried memories, only to open new wounds that bleed. The elder sister even blames her cancer on the sins of her father as a form of karmic retribution. The past lingers—can confession lead to forgiveness and resolve hatred?
