Accompanied by a servant clapping coconut shells, King Arthur (Graham Chapman) pretends to ride a horse in search of knights and castles, witnessing the hardships of the populace and engaging with various nonsensical characters along the way until he gathers a group of knights of the Round Table. They pretend to ride horses together and arrive at Castle Camelot, where they encounter God appearing in the sky, who commands them to seek the Holy Grail. They attempt to besiege a French castle using "the wooden badger" but forget to hide inside it, ultimately getting beaten thoroughly by the French. After their failure, King Arthur and the knights begin to go their separate ways, as the quest for the Holy Grail becomes significant with more unreliable people and matters awaiting this band of unreliable knights... This film is the only "absurd" movie to make it into the top 50 on IMDB. Each of the six core members of the Monty Python troupe plays 4-10 roles, covering most of the characters in the film.
