Heme (played by Benoît Poelvoorde) is working on art restoration in Paris, and he recently notices something unusual about his wife's behavior. However, when he truly faces his rival, his cowardly nature causes him to withdraw from the competition. Meanwhile, in another dimension, a group of slaves in a savage land suffers under the forced sacrifices imposed by the ogre Lutan and his servants. Their only hope is the arrival of a prophesied savior to liberate them from Lutan's grasp. Heme frequently intrudes into another world amid his turbulent life and begins to align with the hopes of the slaves, leading them in a rebellion against Lutan. Armed with theoretical knowledge gained from studying "The Prince" and "The Thirty-Six Stratagems," Heme leads the slave army to repel Lutan's servants and establishes his own dictatorial kingdom, building a magnificent city that rises majestically in the valley, alongside a complete transformation in his character. Soon, the slaves begin to long for the hardships of their past work, and Heme's position wavers, prompting him to choose to return to the real world to confront his actual problems.
