The elderly veterinarian Mr. Yang tries to find a way out of his cage-like marriage, and the death of his father-in-law becomes the last straw. His father-in-law once struggled with marriage just like him. His mother-in-law is now a widow, but still dominates all affairs. Mr. Yang's wife, Olga, also firmly believes that she controls their happiness, which makes Mr. Yang increasingly afraid of following in his father-in-law's footsteps.
