Beautiful twins Hui Xiang (Shu Qi) and Hui Bao (Shu Qi) have different personalities; the elder sister Hui Xiang is quiet and virtuous, living a simple life by the sea with their blind mother (Xi Meijuan). On the other hand, the younger sister Hui Bao is playful and adorable. After graduating from art school, she rehearses “The Legend of the Red Plum” with her boyfriend A Nan (Edison Chen). During one performance, Hui Xiang steps in for her sick sister and receives recognition from the audience and colleagues, which also sparks mutual attraction between her and A Nan.
This forbidden feeling creates a rift and suspicion between the sisters. After a stormy night, Hui Xiang goes missing, and Hui Bao starts behaving increasingly strangely. There seems to be a huge secret behind Hui Xiang's disappearance, and both A Nan and the sisters’ mother struggle to distinguish whether they are seeing Hui Bao or Hui Xiang...
