In the Fourth Arab-Israeli War of 1973, an Israeli aircraft carrying nuclear weapons was shot down in Syria, and the bomb was subsequently buried by time and sandstorms. However, 29 years later, the bomb is unearthed by a civilian couple and cheaply sold to an arms dealer, who eventually sells it to terrorists. These terrorists are plotting a nuclear explosion at a bustling location in the United States, intending to frame Russia and provoke a new world war. Young and vigilant CIA analyst Jack Ryan (played by Ben Affleck) senses something amiss during a meeting with the new Russian president and quickly uncovers the terrorists' shocking conspiracy through informants. However, Ryan's assessments are not taken seriously by his agency. In desperation, he gains the trust and cooperation of experienced and wise senior analyst William Cabot (played by Morgan Freeman). But can the two of them find the nuclear bomb and prevent a catastrophic tragedy before the terrorists strike? This film is adapted from the novel of the same name by American military writer Tom Clancy.
