This disturbing story takes place in Tokyo in 1989. Mysterious British woman Lucy Fly (played by Alicia Vikander) arrives in Tokyo, haunted by painful memories from her past, and falls in love with local handsome photographer Teiji Matsuda (played by Naoki Kobayashi), who is also troubled by his own past. However, when another local, Lily Bridges (played by Riley Keough), becomes entangled in their lives and eventually goes missing, presumed dead, Lucy seems to find it increasingly difficult to maintain her usual composure. This is a suspenseful drama depicting the psychological turmoil of a woman living in a foreign country.
