This film is based on a true story. Alfred "Freddy" Heineken (played by Anthony Hopkins) is the president of the world-famous beer giant Heineken, known globally because of the brand. However, for three weeks in 1983, he became infamous for another reason. In early November, he was kidnapped and held hostage along with his driver for three weeks.
