The movie "Silly Dad" is produced by Le Ying Alliance, co-produced and created by Fujian Xichuang Film Industry, with Deng Xiangping as producer and well-known young director Yang Musheng at the helm. The film mainly tells the story of adoptive father Liu Laoshi and his adopted daughter Liu Xiaohua as they traverse mountains and rivers in search of her biological parents. Through the winding journey of two small characters, the film reflects themes of humanity, familial love, ethics, and societal realities. A master named Liu Laoshi, who makes a living pulling passengers on a tricycle, lives in a southern city. He is in his fifties, and his daughter Liu Xiaohua is eight years old and just started the second grade. Liu Xiaohua is the baby girl Liu Laoshi rescued from a trash can years ago. Since the passing of his late wife, he and his daughter have relied on each other, supporting their daily life and Xiao Hua’s educational expenses with his meager income each month. Every evening, Liu Laoshi rides his tricycle to pick up his daughter when she finishes school and takes her to his “workplace,” and then continues to pedal to earn money. His obedient daughter sets up a little table to do her homework diligently at this time. Despite their low income and financial struggles, the bond of love between father and daughter is a warm source of support for each other. However, fate takes an unfortunate turn when a doctor informs Liu Laoshi that he has a serious illness. Faced with high medical expenses, the family cannot afford the costs. Liu Laoshi, realizing his time may be short, is consumed with fear: What will happen to little Hua after he is gone? Ultimately, he decides to take his child to find her biological parents. If blood is thicker than water, then the gratitude the adoptive father has for raising his daughter over the years far exceeds this familial bond. Liu Laoshi is reluctant to let his daughter leave him, but the child's future is more important than his reluctance. Thus, the aging adoptive father and his daughter embark on a journey to find her roots. Unexpectedly, along the way, the daughter is lured and kidnapped by human traffickers...
