Hot-blooded Grandma Luo Yufen (played by Luo Wenji) is straightforward and loves to stand up for justice. For many years, she has focused on reporting illegal activities in the community, earning her the nickname "Ghost Grandma" from those around her. Her "rival" is the newly hired grassroots civil servant of the petition office, Park Min-jae (played by Lee Do-hyun). The two argue back and forth without a clear winner. One day, Grandma Luo suddenly insists that Park Min-jae become her English teacher. She has a brother who grew up in America and doesn’t understand a word of Korean, so Grandma Luo must learn English to communicate with him. During the learning process, the relationship between Min-jae and Grandma Luo becomes increasingly harmonious. However, Min-jae discovers that Grandma Luo's brother actually doesn't want to talk to her. During a conflict, he unintentionally reveals the truth to her. At that moment, Grandma Luo finds a more urgent reason to learn English; she wants to go to America to tell the world about her experience as a comfort woman, forcing the Japanese government to apologize for its inhumane actions.
