Architect Tony (played by Tony Leung) is very dull and honest, to the extent that he has secretly loved his colleague Erin (played by Chan Yuen) for many years but could never muster the courage to confess. Worse still, Erin already has a close boyfriend, and Tony's unrequited love seems destined to go nowhere. By chance, Tony becomes haunted by a vengeful ghost and is saved by a female ghost named Jia Jia (played by Gigi Leung), which also gives him the special ability to communicate with her telepathically. After learning about Tony's painful love, the enthusiastic Jia Jia decides to help him. After some twists and turns, Erin finally leaves her boyfriend and falls into Tony's arms. However, it is only at this moment that Tony realizes he has already deeply fallen in love with Jia Jia. Unable to bear the pain of separation due to the difference between humans and ghosts, Tony decides to commit suicide with her.
